Covers the cost of medical emergencies incurred outside your country of residence. It's important to contact Cover-More Assist promptly in case of unexpected illness, injury, in-patient treatment or repatriation needs.

Reimbursement includes expenses such as medical practitioner fees, hospital costs, treatment, transportation to the nearest suitable hospital, emergency dental treatment and emergency repairs to dentures or artificial teeth for pain relief. Some cost elements require prior authorisation from Cover-More Assist.

Additional coverage includes repatriation expenses, necessary accommodation and travel costs, and funeral costs or repatriation of mortal remains in case of death abroad. We may arrange transfers to different medical facilities or repatriation to the country of residence if medically necessary and safe.

Main exclusions

  • Pre-existing medical condition as well as any pre-planned or known treatment
  • Any cost incurred after the date Cover-More Assist advised to return home or arranged the return home
  • Treatment or surgery which, in the opinion of Cover-More Assist, can be reasonably delayed until return to the country of residence
  • Any treatment not related to curing or relieving acute unforeseen illness or injury
  • Failure to obtain any recommended vaccines, inoculations or medications prior to the trip
  • Costs in Australia if they did not enrol in the Medicare scheme

Hospital benefits

Overseas hospital benefit
€60 per 24-hour period up to 300

Compensates you for each 24h in hospital caused by a medical emergency.

Exclusions

  • Any additional period of hospitalisation which is not directly related to the injury or medical condition
  • Any additional period of hospitalisation relating to treatment or services provided by a convalescent or nursing home, or any rehabilitation centre

Personal accident

Personal accident
Up to 15,000

Compensates you with a lump sum in case you suffer an accident during your trip resulting in a severe permanent injury.

Exclusions

  • Any claim arising directly or indirectly from any pre-existing medical conditions
  • Any disability or death that is not a direct result of an injury but is caused by a worsening of physical health
  • Permanent total disablement arising more than 12 months after the accident
